Porcelain Outdoor Kitchens

Porcelain Outdoor Kitchens

Planning an outdoor kitchen is slightly different from a regular kitchen remodel.

We need to consider the fact that the furniture will be exposed to the effects of weather, sunlight and other occurrences that would not be a problem with an indoor kitchen.

With the increasing selection of materials to choose from, you might wonder which one would be the perfect choice.

However, you do not have to look any further, because we are introducing you to the best material for the job – porcelain!

What is Porcelain?

Full slab porcelain is an artificial material which has been used in European kitchens for decades now, and it is getting more and more popular in the U.S. for a good reason.

This material has everything you would ask for in a natural stone slab, only it is better in many aspects for your outdoor kitchen.

It is made by mixing powdered China stone with white China clay and heating the blend at over 2600 °F, which is then coated with a beautiful, pigmented blaze.

Thanks to its ingenious making process, a full slab porcelain looks just as awesome as natural stone but comes with extra benefits: the heating process allows it to be heat-resistant, and it also becomes very durable so that you won’t have to worry about stains and scratches.

Extreme durability for outdoor usage

Extreme durability for outdoor usage

A durable countertop comes in handy when we are using it indoors, but it might be especially important for an outdoor kitchen to withstand all the effects that might induce damage.

With a porcelain countertop you won’t have to worry about scratching the surface – the only reason we are still recommending using a cutting board is to protect the knife from going dull.

A porcelain backsplash or countertop will also do well in hot weather and strong sunshine because the material is made to be very heat resistant.

Another advantage compared to natural stone slabs is that porcelain can be cleaned of oil, dirt, dust, and other contamination easily and without stains remaining, making this material exceptionally suitable for outdoor use.

Versatile style to fit your needs

The standard size for porcelain slabs is around 126”x63”, which makes them convenient to be designed and fitted into any outdoor kitchen.

As we have stated above, porcelain is man-made, and this quality allows the material to be styled without restrictions: it is only up to you what design you prefer.

Traditional or modern, classy, or clean - whatever your vision is for your outdoor kitchen, we have the perfect porcelain slabs to make it beautiful while also ensuring its durability.
